Man arrested after attempting fraudulent purchase

A 20-year-old Flint, Michigan man is facing felony charges of theft and conspiracy to commit theft in Dawson County Court.   It stems from a Lexington Police Department investigation at the Lexington Walmart Supercenter on April 22nd.    Officers were summoned to the location to investigate a shoplifting complaint.   A man wanted to make purchases using a "cash card" into the machine.  The transaction allegedly caused the register to believe that physical currency was being used to pay for the items but, the items were not actually paid.    A spokesman with the Lexington Police Department says more than $10,000 in items were involved the purchase attempt.


The suspect, Kiron Green, Jr. was taken into custody.   He was arraigned in Dawson County Court on Monday where bond was set at 10% of $50,000.  His next court hearing was set for May 11, 2021 at 11:00am.
