Midland Baseball’s Hardamon Named All-GPAC; Six Others Earned Honorable Mentions

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The 2024 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Baseball All-Conference team has been announced after a vote of league coaches. Midland University had seven players earn recognition from the conference. The GPAC All-Conference Team consists of a first-team, second-team, and an honorable mention list along with a gold glove team.

Joshua Hardamon, a junior from Oakland, California, was named to the All-GPAC First Team as a designated hitter. In his first season with the Warriors, he led the team in several offensive categories this year including batting average (.355), hits (66), doubles (14), home runs (16), RBIs (40), and slugging percentage (.699).

Hadyn Crawford, a junior from Austin, Texas, hit .283 with 11 home runs and 31 RBIs this season while playing various spots in the infield. He split time at first and third before shifting over to second base the final week of the season.

Deven Gomez, a junior from Thornton, Colorado, started 50 games in his first season with Midland. In addition to patrolling right field, he hit .314 at the plate with 10 doubles and 26 RBIs while scoring 29 runs.

Owen Kelley, a sophomore from Omaha, Nebraska, posted a 3.64 ERA in his second season as a Warrior. He ties for the team lead in appearances, making 16 trips to the mound where he struck out 51 batters while compiling a 6-3 record with 1 save.

Cody Kent, a sophomore from Ridgecrest, California, went 3-0 with a 4.96 ERA while tying for the team’s most appearances with 16. He struck out 14 batters through 16.1 innings of work on the mound.

Alec Villanueva, a junior from Boerne, Texas, had a productive third season for the Warriors despite battling through some injuries. He hit .312 with 18 RBIs and 3 home runs while playing in 38 games.

Zachary Vincent, a senior from Tucson, Arizona, came on strong as the season neared its completion. He went 3-2 in 12 appearances with 7 starts and 1 complete game. He finished the season with a team-best ERA of 3.02 with 48 strikeouts.

Joey Grabanski and Jaidan Quinn of Concordia University were selected as the Co-GPAC Players of the Year, Matt Rhoades of Concordia was named the Freshman of the Year, and Ryan Dupic of Concordia was named the GPAC Coach-of-the-Year.
