COLUMBUS, Neb. – Central Community College softball outfielder Caroline Riffer has earned National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II All-America Third Team honors for the second straight year. As such, Riffer is the first two-time NJCAA All-America honoree in program history.

The Region 9 Offensive Player of the Year, Riffer totaled 66 stolen bases in 2023, which placed her second in NJCAA Division II. The second-place finish in stolen bases is also a repeat performance. At the plate, Riffer recorded a team-best .475 batting average with a .684 slugging percentage and a .533 on base percentage. She tallied 76 runs, 75 hits and finished among the top 50 hitters in NJCAA Division II.

“Caroline’s outstanding offensive performance is part of the reason our team recorded the most wins in a season and won the first Nebraska Community College Athletic Conference championship in program history,” said CCC head coach Caitlin Simon. “With records dating back to the 2013 season, she is now the career record holder in batting average (.475), hits (150), stolen bases (123), runs scored (121) and triples (9). Caroline was an amazing student-athlete to work with over the years and we are fortunate she chose to be a Raider.”

Riffer made the All-Region 9 team twice and is a two-time CCC Female Athlete of the Year. She graduated from CCC last month with an associate of science degree.
