Troopers Find 20 LBs of Cocaine in I-80 Traffic Stop

Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol have arrested a New Jersey man after finding 20 pounds of cocaine during a traffic stop on I-80 in York County.

At approximately 12:15 p.m. Saturday, a trooper stopped an eastbound BMW X5 for speeding on I-80 near Waco, at mile marker 360. During the traffic stop, the trooper became suspicious of criminal activity.

A search of the vehicle revealed 20 pounds of cocaine. The cocaine was found concealed inside several hidden compartments in the vehicle. The York County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the search.

The driver, Pablo Suruy Hernandez, 40, of Paterson, New Jersey, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and possession with intent to deliver. He was lodged in York County Jail.
