A Michigan rapper and songwriter was arrested in a Dawson County traffic stop earlier this month. The 22-year-old James Edward Johnson IV is known professionally as BabyTron. He lists the Detroit suburb of Van Buren Township as his address.
The arrest occurred on Interstate 80 about 6 miles east of the Cozad interchange. Around 2:45 pm on February 8, 2023, a Nebraska State Patrol trooper stopped an eastbound vehicle after observing it traveling at 95 mph in a 75 mph zone.
As the trooper contacted the driver, identified as Johnson, the trooper detected the odor of Marijuana and asked Johnson to exit the vehicle and conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle leading to the discovery of Marijuana, Marijuana edibles, Psilocybin Mushroom edibles and a 9mm handgun. Johnson and three other occupants of the vehicle were all placed under arrest and booked into the Dawson County Jail in Lexington, NE.
Johnson was charged in Dawson County Court with Possession of Psilocybin, a felony, and misdemeanor charges of Possession of an ounce or less of Marijuana and speeding. His bond was set at $15,000. Johnson was released after he posted 10% of that amount. His next court hearing is set for March 2, 2023 at 2:30 pm in Dawson County Court in Lexington, NE.
Johnson performed the previous evening at a Denver concert venue called Cervantes’ Other Side. He is performing on a schedule called the “Bin Reaper Tour” in support of his third studio album.

Lamont Collins, 29 of Detroit charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person and Possession of Psilocybin. His bond was set at 10% of $200,000. His next hearing is set for February 27, 2023 in Dawson County Court. He was still listed in the Dawson County Jail Monday afternoon.
Jakeen Stokes, 20 of Detroit, charged with Possession of Psilocybin. She posted 10% of her $15,000 bond and has been released pending her next hearing set for March 2, 2023 at 2:30pm.
Ahmed Ford, 19 of Detroit, charged with Possession of Psilocybin. He posted 10% of his $15,000 bond and has been released pending his next hearing set for March 2, 2023 at 2:30pm.
