Lexington, Neb. — Enjoyment in listening to their customers and helping them find a perfect piece of jewelry or repairing keepsakes have drawn the owners of Johnson’s Jewelry in downtown Lexington to reopen the store on a part-time basis. Following a sale that ended with the closing of the business in February of 2022, Dave and Sandy Doss spent time away. Now they’re back. Dave Doss says the store is open on a limited basis…

“Sandy and I decided when we got back from our vacation or time down south, to reopen Johnson Jewelry on a part-time basis…basically because we missed working at the store and enjoyed the people here so much that we wanted to provide the services that we knew were needed to keep people able to wear their jewelry on a daily basis…cleaning, checking (keepsakes), small repairs.”

Dave Doss says another reason for the partial reopening is the jewelry items leftover after the closing sale…

Doss says Johnson’s Jewelry is currently open Tuesdays through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Saturdays 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., but that schedule could be disrupted by doctor’s appointments and other commitments.

Doss says the part-time reopening is not a step toward opening the business full-time. He says their “end-goal” is the hope that someone will come forward and purchase the store while it’s still in operational mode so the area will be left with a full-time jewelry store.

Doss says those wanting to make a one-on-one appointment may call the store at 308-324-3491 and leave a message. Or they may message the store through Facebook.
