ORD – The Nebraska Grazing Lands Coalition (NGLC) will be hosting a pair of workshops in early June focused on generational transition for ag producers.

NGLC Assistant Director Angela Redman says the workshops will feature an ag estate attorney presenting on topics related to inheritance laws and how to plan for passing on an operation.

The workshops will be held Wednesday, June 5, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Bassett and Thursday, June 6, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Valley County Fairgrounds Technology Center in Ord.

In addition to the main presentation, the Bassett workshop will provide an opportunity for private one-on-one sessions with the attorney while the Ord event will include a panel of producers who have experienced transition discussing what did and did not work for their operations and families.

Redman says NGLC also has scholarship opportunities available for producers.

Registration for both events costs $20 with lunch included. Those interested should register no later than May 31 on the NGLC website or by calling either the Valley County or Rock County Extension Office.
