Omaha, Neb. — An inmate was reported as missing Sunday from the Community Corrections Center-Omaha. 20 year old Julian Tapia tampered with his electronic monitor and was able to remove it about one mile from the center.
Tapia started his sentence in July of 2020. His sentence from Buffalo County required him to serve 8 to 21 years for first and second degree assaults. He has a parole hearing set for February of next year and a tentative release date in August of 2030.
Tapia is a Hispanic male, 6’ 4”, 190 lbs. with black hair and brown eyes. Anyone with knowledge of his whereabouts is asked to contact local authorities or the Nebraska State Patrol.
