Lexington-Lexington native Jake Harvey has been hired as the new varsity football coach at Lexington high school. Harvey is a 2002 graduate of Lexington and has taught and coached in the Lexington system since 2011. Harvey has been the offensive coordinator for the Minutemen the last three years.

He began his coaching and teaching career at Millard North. After that stop, he was an assistant at Grand Island high school. During that two year stint he also served as an assistant coach for the Nebraska Danger Indoor Football Team. Harvey will continue to teach PE at Lexington High School. He replaces longtime head coach Jeff Rowan who stepped down from the position last fall. Listen below to Harvey’s thought on leading the program.
