West Point City Council to Meet Tuesday

WEST POINT, NEBRASKA
CITY COUNCIL AGENDA – Tuesday, July 2, 2024

All agenda items are for discussion and action will be taken as deemed appropriate. The City Council reserves the right to go into closed session on any agenda item in accordance with Section 84-1410.

A. CALL TO ORDER

1. Call meeting to order.
2. Inform the public that the Open Meetings Act is posted on the north wall of the Council Chambers.
3. Pledge of Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America.
4. Roll Call.

B. CONSENT AGENDA:
(Items under the Consent Agenda are proposed for adoption by one action for all items unless any member of the Council requests that an item be considered separately.)

1. City appointed boards and commissions.
2. Fire & rescue departments – accept memberships & resignations.
3. Approval of minutes of the previous meeting.
4. Treasurer’s report.
5. Claims.

C. ANNEXATION of A tract of land located in the Southeast 1/4 of the Southeast 1/4 of Section 22 and in the Southwest 1/4 of the Southwest 1/4 of Section 23, T22N, R6E of the 6th P.M., Cuming County, Nebraska, containing 2.12 acres, more or less.

D. BIDS: Levee Improvements.

E. CURRENT BUSINESS:

1. Discuss specifications and plans of paving projects.
2. Consider lot split request of a tract of land located SE ¼ of the SE ¼ of Section 25, Tract 22N, R6E of the 6th P.M., Cuming County, Nebraska. Chris Mandel, Applicant.
3. Approval and adoption of a resolution proposing a resolution of necessity regarding the creation of Storm Sewer District 2024-1 of the City relating to improvements to the City’s storm sewer system in an amount not to exceed $2,500,000.
4. Consider request for operation of a pedal pub, Pedal Therapy Bike. Ben Uzzell.
5. Discuss vacating right of way. (Troy and Tammie Harrington).
6. Sunshine Senior Center – Accept the 2025 Title III-B, Title III-C and III-E service contracts with Northeast Nebraska Area Agency on Aging.
7. Chamber of Commerce – economic development quarterly report – Tina Biteghe Bi Ndong, Executive Director.
8. Discuss allowing use of golf carts within the corporate limits.
9. Approval of council affiliated claim of Hugo Plumbing & Heating for services and supplies.
10. Schedule budget workshop for 2024-2025 budget.

F. RESOLUTIONS AND ORDINANCES:

1. Ordinance 1446 (Verbiage Correction): Additional language included in the Ordinance accepting the plat and dedication of the replat of Lot 24 of Elaine’s 275 Subdivision to the City of West Point, Cuming County, Nebraska and Lots 25R and 26R of the Replat of Lots 12, 13, 22, and 23 of Elaine’s 275 Subdivision to the City of West Point, Cuming County, Nebraska.
2. Ordinance: To annex a tract of land located in the Southeast 1/4 of the Southeast 1/4 of Section 22 and in the Southwest 1/4 of the Southwest 1/4 of Section 23, T22N, R6E of the 6th P.M., Cuming County, Nebraska and be designated as Addition P to the City of West Point (first reading).
3. Ordinance: Adopting a Pay Plan for all employees of the City.
4. Resolution: Approve Application/Payment #21 in the amount of $175,058.39 to Christiansen Construction Company for the West Point Aquatic Center Project.
