CITY COUNCIL AGENDA – Tuesday, April 2, 2024

5:30 o’clock P.M.

Municipal Building, 444 South Main Street

All agenda items are for discussion and action will be taken as deemed appropriate. The City Council reserves the right to go into closed session in accordance with Section 84-1410.

  1. CALL TO ORDER
  2. Call meeting to order.
  3. Inform the public that the Open Meetings Act is posted on the north wall of the room.
  4. Pledge of Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America.
  5. Roll Call.

  1. City appointed boards and commissions: reappointment of Kayla Roth Kuxhausen and Nicki White to Library Board(4 year term) and Erv Renner, Mark Schlickbernd and JoAnn Lewis to Planning Commission (3 year term).
  2. Fire & rescue departments- none.
  3. Approval of minutes of previous meeting.
  4. Treasurer’s report.
  5. Claims.
  • PUBLIC HEARINGS: None.

  • CURRENT BUSINESS:
  • Chamber of Commerce- economic development quarterly report – Tina Biteghe Bi Ndong, Executive Director.
  • Grace Lutheran Church request for the following street closure to accommodate activities associated with their 150th Anniversary celebration:

(a) 300 block of East Park Street on Sunday, June 9,

   2024 from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

  • LB 840 Economic Development – Citizen Advisory Review Committee – six-month report.
  • Report on progress of redevelopment projects financed through Tax Increment Financing (TIF).
  • Subdivision of real estate requesting to split a tract of land located in the Northwest 1/4 of Section 11, Township 21 North, Range 6 East of the 6th P.M., Cuming County, Nebraska. (Erv Eisenmenger, applicant).
  • Authorize going out for bids for quonset/building removal at 418 N. Mill St.
  • Authorize the sale of power poles.
  • 2022-2023 Independent Audit – receipt of audit conducted by Cruise & Associates/MDT LLC.
  • MEAN Modernized SSM Agreement.
  • Special Designated Liquor Licenses:

(a)Rush’s Liquor Store for the West Point Community Theatre for a Fundraiser on April 27, 2024.

(b)Guardian Angels Central Catholic for Jayfest Fundraiser on June 7, 2024.

  1. Approval of council affiliated claims of Hugo Plumbing & Heating for services and supplies.
