Wayne, Neb. — The Wayne State College volleyball team is ranked second in the first regular season AVCA/TARAFLEX Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll released late Monday afternoon. The Wildcats collected six first-place votes and garnered 1,109 points in voting from various Division II coaches across the country.
Wayne State opened the season over the weekend with four wins at the Eckerd College Invitational in Florida, including wins over NCAA Tournament Teams from last season Adelphi NY 3-0 and Eckerd (Fla.) 3-1. The Wildcats travel to Denver, Colorado this weekend for the Premier Challenge facing #13 Chaminade and Wheeling (W.Va.) on Friday.
