Wayne State Men and Women to battle St. Cloud State and Minnesota Duluth away from home this weekend

The Wayne State College mens basketball team faces a challenging road trip this weekend visiting St. Cloud State Friday at 7:30 p.m. and Minnesota Duluth Saturday at 5:30 p.m.  The Wildcats enter the weekend with the longest current win streak in the NSIC (four games) and are 10-15 overall and 7-9 in the NSIC South Division (6th place).  St. Cloud State is 12-10 and fourth in the NSIC North with a 9-7 league mark while UMD starts the weekend at 16-6 and second place in the NSIC North with a 11-5 league mark.  Last season, SCSU beat WSC in the regular season 91-79 while the Wildcats snapped a 12-game losing skid to the Huskies later in the season with a 77-76 win in the NSIC Tournament quarterfinals at the Pentagon in Sioux Falls.  Minnesota Duluth topped the Wildcats last season in Wayne 77-72 in the lone meeting of the season.

Wayne State visits the top two teams from the NSIC North Division in womens basketball this weekend as the Wildcats play at St. Cloud State Friday night (5:30 p.m.) and Minnesota Duluth Saturday afternoon (3:30 p.m.).  The Wildcats are 15-7 overall and tied for second in the NSIC South at 10-6 in league play heading into Fridays matchup against the Huskies, who have won 10 straight games and are 16-4 and second place in the NSIC North at 13-3.  Minnesota Duluth starts the weekend leading the NSIC North at 14-2 and 17-5 overall.  Last season, SCSU ended a 12-game losing streak to WSC beating the Wildcats in Wayne 78-67 while UMD registered a 79-57 win over WSC in Wayne.
