September 11th, 2024 | Connie Green

Public hearings were held on the Final Tax request and the upcoming year’s budget Tuesday afternoon at the Washington County Board of Supervisors meeting. The vote on those matters will be held at the next meeting of the supervisors. A request allowing a conditional use permit to build a new sign at Saint Paul Lutheran Church in Arlington was not needed as determined by board members, and the church will begin construction of that new sign after determining that it will not obstruct vision of motorists. In a report to the board of supervisors by Washington County Sheriff Mike Robinson, Jail Revenues for August were 92 thousand 913 dollars. Most of that coming from inmates from Lancaster and Dodge counties. Other counties housing their inmates include Otoe, Saunders, Fillmore and Burt, with inmates from the Omaha Police Department as well. Revenues year to date are 197 thousand 458 dollars, the average monthly revenue is over 98 and a half thousand dollars.
