SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) has announced its football players-of-the-week for games played the week of October 7-13, 2024. Midland University’s Carter Wagner was selected as the GPAC Defensive Player of the Week while Zack Chevalier of Morningside University and Laken Harnly of Hastings College were named offensive and special teams’ players of the week, respectively.
Wagner, a junior from Round Rock, Texas, had a big pick-six for Midland as it won on the road at Briar Cliff on Saturday. Early in the first quarter, he intercepted the Chargers’ quarterback near midfield and returned it for a 47-yard score. He added three tackles to his stat line as the Warriors limited the Chargers to 3-for-14 on third downs and only 64 yards of rushing. The Warriors are set to host Hastings on Saturday, October 19 as part of Homecoming. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. at Heedum Field.
