West Lafayette, Ind.- The Omaha Mavericks complete the sweep of Big 10 opponent Purdue in a dominant 6-5 win Saturday afternoon. The Mavericks were boosted to victory with five unanswered runs.
The Mavericks improve to a 21-7 overall record on the campaign and extend their winning streak to 10. Omaha has now picked up four wins against Power 5 opponents.

How It Happened
– Leading off the day, Lynsey Tucker was walked on a 4-0 count. Ava Rongisch, in the cleanup spot, hit a two-out RBI single to right field to put the Mavericks up 1-0 in the top of the first.
– Kamryn Meyer had a hot start with three straight strikeouts in the top of the first.
– The Mavericks put up four additional runs in the top of the first.
– The first run in the second was scored by Jaelle Johnson who tagged up on third with bases loaded to score on Maggie O’Brien’s sacrifice fly to left field.
– During the next at-bat, Sydney Thomason hit a three-run home run to left field.
– Meyer had another three straight strikeouts in the bottom of the second.
– Purdue scored their first run in the bottom of the sixth with a sacrifice fly to left field.
– Lynsey Tucker hit an RBI single to center, scoring in Jaelle Johnson for the sixth run.
– Purdue rallied in the bottom of the seventh with two runs on a double to left field and another two with a single to left field.
– With the score 6-5, a runner on first, and only one out, Tucker made a double at second and first to finish the game.
Game Notes
– Meyer threw 11 strikeouts, including her 100th of the season.
– Meyer is now 11-3.
– Thomason recorded three RBIs, one run, and her seventh home run of the season.
– Jaelle Johnson went 2-for-3 at-bat and recorded two runs.
– Sydney Ross had a team-high 11 putouts.
– Omaha outhit Purdue 9-8.
