The Omaha Mavericks shutout the Kansas City Roos 1-0 in 14 innings during their first game of the Summit League Tournament. The 14 innings of play marked the longest game ever played in a Summit League Tournament.
The Mavericks improved to a 38-12 overall record and are now 12-9 in the league tournament.
With their 17th shutout of the season, Omaha advances to the next round where they will play South Dakota State on Friday at 1 p.m.

How It Happened
– To start the game defensively Kamryn Meyer recorded the first seven outs on seven strikeouts.
– In the bottom of the third Omaha notched their first hit from Lynsey Tucker’s single up the middle.
– After seven innings the game remained scoreless sending the game to extra innings.
– Meyer recorded her 17th strikeout of the game in the top the eighth to break the record for most strikeouts in a Summit League tournament game.
– In the 10th inning, Meyer retired her 19th batter for her 995th career strikeout making her the All-Time Summit League Strikeout Leader.
– Freshman Haley Wilwerding, after not appearing in a game since April 5, entered to pinch-hit in the bottom of the 14th where she hit a deep walk-off home run to left field to end the game.

– Wilwerding’s home run was the first of her career.
– Lynsey Tucker, Maggie O’Brien, Sydney Thomason, Ava Rongisch, and Wilwerding each recorded one hit.
– Jaelle Johnson tallied 10 putouts and Olivia Aden recorded four assists.
– Meyer recorded 21 strikeouts, a new career high.
– The ace put in 14 innings of work where she only allowed two walks and six hits. With no runs allowed Meyer, for the 10th game in a row, recorded a 0.00 ERA. The graduate pitcher has not allowed a hit in 61.1 innings.
– Meyer struck out all but one Roo in the starting lineup.
– Her win today puts her at 23-3 on the season and extends her winning streak to 18.
