Team Nebraska brings home 17 top 20 finishes from National High School Finals Rodeo

The National High School Finals Rodeo took place July 14-20, 2024. Team Nebraska left Rock Springs, Wyoming, placing 5th in the girls team standings, 8th in the boys team standings, and 5th in the combined standings. The following athletes finished within the top 20 in their respective events:

Steer Wrestling:

  • 3rd – Carson Cooksley, Valentine
  • 8th – Wyatt Reichenberg, Harrisburg
  • 17th – Dawson Doggett, Callaway

Barrel Racing:

  • 10th – Hailey Witte, Crookston
  • 17th – Tyley Sears, Valentine

Bareback Riding

  • 10th – Koltdyn Heath, Minden
  • 14th (tie) – Tanner Olson, Gordon

Breakaway Roping

  • 15th – Reagan McIntyre, Grand Island

Bull Riding

  • 13th – Cooper Kerner, Sutherland
  • 16th – Sutton Schrunk, Valentine
  • 19th – Grady Gorwill, Hyannis

Girls Cutting

  • 10th – Brooke Forre, Newman Grove
  • 13th – Ava Smith, Pender

Goat Tying

  • 6th – Laney Hoier, Herman

Pole Bending

  • 13th – Maci Herrington, Bassett

Saddle Broncs

  • 14th – Cooper Fay, Valentine

Queen Contest

  • 7th – Felycia Kerkman, Atkinson
