A suspect who was wanted after a shootout with law enforcement in Omaha last night has been captured in Washington County this morning.

Highway 30 near Kennard needed to be closed during a standoff before authorities took 42-year-old Jason Davenport into custody.

Authorities were trying to serve an arrest warrant on South 30th Street last night when the suspect fled the residence, firing a handgun. His gunfire did strike patrol units but no Nebraska State Troopers or Omaha Police officers were injured.

As Davenport fled, he took a woman hostage and fled in a Ford Fusion.

Although authorities pursued the suspect, they lost track of him in Upland Park.
