ODELL, Neb. (AP) — A 75-year-old man was seriously injured in a home accident on June 5th in Odell.
At 6:45 p.m., the Gage County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call regarding the incident.
John Novotny, of Odell, was working on his house while standing in the front-end bucket of a tractor. According to authorities, Novotny slipped while attempting to lower the bucket, accidentally putting the tractor into gear as he fell out.
The tractor then ran over Novotny, causing severe injuries. Odell Fire and Rescue and Beatrice Fire and Rescue arrived on the scene to provide immediate medical assistance. Novotny was airlifted to a hospital by Starcare Life Flight Helicopter.
The incident is currently under investigation.
