Second Guatemalan Suspect Located and in Custody in Connection with Unlawful Killing of American Bald Eagle Last year in Stanton County

A second male fugitive has been located and is in federal custody after he was located using an assumed identity last month. Ramiro Hernandez-Tziquin has also entered a guilty plea in federal court and will be sentenced in October for Violating the Bald -Golden Eagle Protection Act. Hernandez-Tziquin fled the area shortly after he was found in possession of a Great American Bald Eagle, that had been unlawfully killed southwest of Stanton by the Stanton County Sheriff’s office. A second subject Domingo Zetino-Hernandez was taken into federal custody shortly after the March 2023 incident and subsequently was sentenced to a jail term and after its completion was deported back to Guatemala. Hernandez-Tziquin also faces jail time and probable deportation upon his sentencing. Both men were in the United States illegally.
