SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Morningside picked up its first GPAC pitcher of the week award of the season this week, as Kai Purdy-Burton tossed a complete game shutout against Mount Marty last week.
Purdy-Burton, a sophomore from Pasadena, California, struck out 10 batters in a seven-inning complete game victory. He allowed three hits and zero runs to the receiving votes Lancers.
The Mustangs are currently 17-9 and 4-2 in conference. Morningside hosts Northwestern Thursday and Hastings Saturday.
