Man jailed following suspected physical disturbance in Bancroft

A man was arrested in Bancroft just after 11:00 Monday morning for an alleged physical disturbance possibly involving a weapon and involving a female.

According to a Press Release from the Cuming County Sheriff’s Office, Gary Stinson was taken into custody and lodged into Thurston County Jail for Third Degree Assault, Resisting Arrest, and Assaulting an Officer.

The female was taken to St. Francis Hospital with non-life threatening injuries by Bancroft Fire and Rescue where she was treated and released.

The Cuming County Sheriff’s Office responded to the incident and received assistance from the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office, Burt County Sheriff’s Office, Macy Police Department, Nebraska State Patrol, and Bancroft Rescue.
