NEBRASKA: For the week ending June 23, 2024, there were 5.2 days suitable for fieldwork, according to the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service. Topsoil moisture supplies rated 2% very short, 15% short, 66% adequate, and 17% surplus. Subsoil moisture supplies rated 2% very short, 19% short, 67% adequate, and 12% surplus.


Field Crops Report: Corn condition rated 0% very poor, 3% poor, 15% fair, 53% good, and
29% excellent. Corn silking was 1%. Soybean condition rated 0% very poor, 3% poor, 18% fair, 56% good, and 23% excellent. Soybeans emerged was 95%, near 97% last year and 94% for the five-year average. Blooming was 5%, near 6% last year and 8% average. Winter wheat condition rated 1% very poor, 4% poor, 26% fair, 50% good, and 19% excellent. Winter wheat harvested was 2%. Sorghum condition rated 0% very poor, 0% poor, 16% fair, 73% good, and 11% excellent. Sorghum planted was 98%, equal to last year, and near 97% average. Headed was 3%, near 1% last year and 2% average. Oats condition rated 0% very poor, 1% poor, 20% fair, 58% good, and 21% excellent. Oats headed was 84%, ahead of 75% last year and 77% average. Dry edible bean condition rated 0% very poor, 0% poor, 21% fair, 69% good, and 10% excellent. Dry edible beans planted was 96%, near 92% last year. Emerged was 72%, equal to last year.

Pasture and Range Report: Pasture and range conditions rated 1% very poor, 3% poor, 25%
fair, 57% good, and 14% excellent.

KANSAS: For the week ending June 23, 2024, there were 5.5 days suitable for fieldwork, according to the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service. Topsoil moisture supplies rated 7% very short, 27% short, 61% adequate, and 5% surplus. Subsoil moisture supplies rated 7% very short, 31% short, 59% adequate, and 3% surplus.


Field Crops Report: Winter wheat condition rated 8% very poor, 15% poor, 35% fair, 36%
good, and 6% excellent. Winter wheat mature was 94%, well ahead of 53% last year and 65% for
the five-year average. Harvested was 53%, well ahead of 17% last year and 25% average.
Corn condition rated 1% very poor, 5% poor, 32% fair, 49% good, and 13% excellent. Corn
emerged was 97%, near 95% both last year and average. Silking was 11%, ahead of 4% last year
and 5% average.
Soybean condition rated 1% very poor, 3% poor, 24% fair, 61% good, and 11% excellent.
Soybeans planted was 92%, equal to last year, and near 90% average. Emerged was 82%, near
84% last year and 79% average. Blooming was 1%, near 3% both last year and average.
Sorghum condition rated 1% very poor, 4% poor, 37% fair, 49% good, and 9% excellent.
Sorghum planted was 86%, ahead of 73% last year, and near 82% average. Headed was 1%, near
3% last year and 2% average.
Cotton condition rated 3% very poor, 6% poor, 30% fair, 47% good, and 14% excellent. Cotton
squaring was 30%, ahead of 25% last year and 18% average.
Sunflowers planted was 82%, near 79% last year, and ahead of 77% average.

Pasture and Range Report: Pasture and range conditions rated 3% very poor, 8% poor, 29%
fair, 51% good, and 9% excellent.
