GACC Girls and Boys split with O’Neill

O’NEILL – The GACC Girls and Boys Basketball Teams split at O’Neill Friday night in High School Basketball aired on 107.9 the Bull with the Bluejays taking the girls contest 61-30 and the Eagles soaring to a 76-56 win in the Boys Game.

In the girls game, GACC got off to a slow start, but still led 13-10 after the 1st quarter, and 25-17 at halftime.

The Bluejays implored a full court press in the 2nd half and started the 3rd quarter on a 17-0 run on their way to a 45-23 lead at the end of three.

GACC outscored O’Neill 16-7 in the 4th quarter.

Adyson Luebbert paced the Bluejays with 14 points while Kelsy Steffen was also in double figures with 13. Reese Throener added 7.

Ashley Sidak led the Eagles with 10 points.

GACC improves to 14-1 on the season and takes on Hartington Cedar Catholic at home on Saturday while the Eagles fall to 4-10 on the year and battle Norfolk Catholic on the road Tuesday night.

In the boys game, O’Neill got out to an 8-0 lead in the 1st quarter and led 20-9 at the end of the one and 38-19 at halftime.

The Eagles won the 3rd quarter 21-17 to go up 59-36 at the end of three.

GACC won the 4th quarter 20-17.

Landon Classen scored a game-high 32 points for O’Neill, connecting on eight three pointers. Tyler Diediker added 12 while Drew Morrow was also in double figures with 10. Colton Osborne chipped in 9.

The Bluejays were led in scoring by Konnor Kralik, who had 17 points. Kolton Kralik compiled 7.

GACC falls to 4-9 on the season and hosts Hartington Cedar Catholic on Saturday while O’Neill ups their record to 10-3 on the year and battles Norfolk Catholic on the road Tuesday night.
