Oakland, Nebraska, USA, May 24, 2024 — Franciscan Pharmacy announced today the acquisition of the Corner Drug Store in Oakland, Nebraska.
Rick and Susan Mulder of Corner Drug Store stated, “It is with a mix of gratitude and nostalgia that we announce our decision to transition out of our pharmacy practice in Oakland, Nebraska, and partner with Franciscan Healthcare. This will allow the residents of Oakland and the surrounding area continued availability of a hometown pharmacy. The many years of service have been marked by invaluable experiences, relationships, and a commitment to providing excellent healthcare to the area, and it has been an honor collaborating with dedicated colleagues, nurses, and staff who share a passion for patient well-being.”
This transition will begin July 1, 2024, and will allow the pharmacy services to have a continued presence in Oakland. The hours and staff will not change in this transition. Rick Mulder will have a significant presence in the pharmacy and will be collaborating with the Franciscan Pharmacy staff now and in the future. The current location at 301 N. Oakland Avenue will remain open until the new location at 211 N. Engdahl Avenue is complete (projected Fall 2024). This new location will be housed in the same building as Franciscan Healthcare Oakland Clinic and will feature drive-through pharmacy service.
