July 4th, 2024 | Connie Green

Both DeSoto and Boyer Chutes National Wildlife Refuges remain closed Thursday due to flooding. Missouri River water levels are decreasing, but the impact of those flooded areas is still evident. Some roadways in the refuges are water covered, others are under layers of mud, silt and debris according to refuge officials.

Roadways in Iowa, closed to traffic due to flooding – are reopened – Sections of I-29 and I-680 are now open, though there are lane restrictions according to the Iowa Department of Transportation.
