New York, City- Former UNK star Wes Ferguson put together a strong finish and ended up as the runner-up at the New York City Grand Prix Sunday. Ferguson finished his first run as a professional with a time of 1:45.06, which was a new personal best. Ferguson was back in the pack and sat in 7th place before putting together a huge push down the stretch which nearly allowed him to catch Mexico’s Tonatiu Lopez at the finish line. Up next for the Fremont native is this year’s Olympic Trials which are set for later on this month in Eugene, Oregon.
