WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Congressman Mike Flood issued a statement following a vote on H.R. 5, a bill known as the Parents Bill of Rights.

“The right of parents to direct the education and upbringing of their children has long been recognized in the United States. At a time when activists are trying to coopt our country’s education system, this simple measure puts into law some very important protections. We cannot let our schools become places of ideological indoctrination. We must ensure they graduate students who love their country and want to be involved in their communities. H.R. 5 helps move towards that goal by bringing more transparency to our schools, reaffirming parents have the right to keep their kids safe, and ensuring families can know what their kids are being taught in the classroom.”
