LINCOLN – U.S. Congressman Mike Flood is taking applications for the summer internship program in his Washington, D.C. office.
“I’m excited to announce we are now accepting applications for our Washington, D.C. summer internship program,” said Congressman Flood. “This program provides students with a way to get firsthand experience in our nation’s capital and an upfront view of how public policy is shaped.”
Interns will have the opportunity to work alongside each team with the office’s full-time congressional staff. The internship curriculum is meant to provide interns with an understanding of how a congressional office administers constituent services, communications, operations, legislative, and committee work. Interns are also encouraged to attend multiple congressional hearings, policy briefings, guest speakers, exhibits, and networking events on Capitol Hill.
The deadline to apply for the summer internship is March 22, 2024. Applicants will be notified if they are selected on March 29th, and the internship will run from May 28th to August 9th.
Students and recent graduates with ties to Nebraska’s first congressional district will receive first consideration. Applications for other seasons will be accepted on a rolling basis. Full details about the internship program can be found here.
