WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Congressman Mike Flood announced he is taking applications for the fall internship program in his Washington, D.C. office.

“I’m excited to announce we are now accepting applications for our Washington, D.C. fall internship program,” said Rep. Flood. “This program provides students with a way to get firsthand experience in our nation’s capital and an upfront view of how public policy is shaped.”

Interns will have the opportunity to work alongside each team with the office’s full-time congressional staff. The internship curriculum is meant to provide interns with an understanding of how a congressional office administers constituent services, communications, operations, legislative, and committee work. Interns are also encouraged to attend multiple congressional hearings, policy briefings, guest speakers, exhibits, and networking events on Capitol Hill.

The deadline to apply for the fall internship is July 19, 2024. Applicants will be notified if they are selected on July 26th, and the internship will run from September 3, 2024, through December 13, 2024.

Students and recent graduates with ties to Nebraska’s first congressional district will receive first consideration. Applications for other seasons will be accepted on a rolling basis. Full details about the internship program can be found here.
