NEBRASKA – The Center for Rural Affairs will soon hold the following events:

  • Grand Island, Neb. – Business with Coffee (Spanish), Monday, Aug. 12, from 8:30 to 10 a.m., at College Park, 3180 W. Highway 34. Do you wish to meet other business owners like yourself?   • South Sioux City, Neb. – Business with Coffee (Spanish), Tuesday, Aug. 13, from 10 to 11:30 a.m., at South Sioux City Public Library, 2121 Dakota Ave. Join us for a cup of coffee and meet other entrepreneurs. At this event you will be able to establish relationships, learn, and grow with other business owners, giving you the opportunity to share what you know, and discover innovative ideas and effective strategies in the small business world.   • Lyons, Neb. – Time to Shine Documentary Screening, Thursday, Aug. 22, at 7 p.m., at Cosmic Films Studio, 206 N. Main St. and Storefront Theater downtown. With more than 20,000 copies of its self-distributed original CD, Ivory Star became one of Nebraska’s most successful bands from the ‘90s, and its story is being told on screen. Siblings and bandmates Dave and Donnette Smith share their passion for music, their first cover band, Street Legal, and their rise to success. Join us to watch this documentary of their story and rise to regional fame, followed by a panel discussion with filmmaker Jim Fields and Dave and Donnette Smith.
