The Charger softball team placed two Chargers on the All-GPAC list this past spring. Kylee Lukes was named first team at shortstop, while Karis Gifford was named second team in the outfield.

Lukes, a senior from Jefferson, WI, will go down as one of the most decorated players to suit up for Charger softball. The shortstop posted a .436 batting average with 12 home runs, 54 RBIs, and held an OBP of .857. She re-wrote the Charger record books this spring. She ranks first in career RBIs with 135, and home runs in a career with 25. Her 12 home runs is tied for second most in a season, while her 54 RBIs are a new program best in a season. In a win against St. Francis, Lukes went two-for-three with two home runs, four RBIs, and drew a walk.

Gifford, a senior from Lincoln, NE, started every contest for the Cliff and posted a .287/.412/.331 slash line. Gifford posted four double and a triple in the lead off role for the Cliff. Gifford posted a .985 fielding percentage and recorded only one error all season. Gifford’s best game came against Valley City State in March where she went a perfect three-for-three at the plate, drew two walks, and stole on base while scoring two runs.
