Blair Mayor Mindy Rump, in Tuesday night’s city council meeting, appointed Aaron Wattenbach as a full time Blair Police Officer, and authorized the purchase of a new vehicle for the Police Department. While working on the revised constitution and by-laws for the Blair Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department, some procedures were not followed that normally would be, that’s the concern of one firefighter, and upon discussion with the city’s legal representation, the city council tabled the matter until those procedures are rectified. A request to the Nebraska Department of Transportation to change the route signs for Highways 30 and 75 to follow the new bypass was approved for sending. Additionally, the City Offices will be closed next Monday, October 14th for Columbus Day.
