Wayne State hits the road this weekend for NSIC contests at Northern State (15-4, 7-3 NSIC-4th) Friday night at 6 p.m. and at MSU Moorhead (7-12, 3-7 NSIC-12th) Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. For the fifth straight week the Wildcats are ranked #1 in the AVCA/TARAFLEX Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll, receiving 43 of 47 first-place votes and collected 1,168 points in voting conducted by various Division II coaches from across the country. WSC has won 12 straight matches and is 19-1 overall and first place in the NSIC with a 10-0 league mark. Last season the Wildcats picked up road wins at Northern State (25-19, 25-17, 25-21) and a sweep at MSU Moorhead by scores of 25-15, 25-9, 25-16.
