William Haber Jr., 87, of Beemer
April 30, 1936 - April 3, 2024

Funeral services for William Haber, Jr. age 87 of Beemer, NE will be held on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Beemer, NE with Pastor Michael Belinsky officiating.  Interment and Military Honors will be in the Beemer Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at the Beemer Legion Hall.  Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church and will continue one hour prior to the service.  Minnick Funeral Home in West Point, NE is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Bill passed away on Wednesday, April 3rd, at Nebraska Medicine in Omaha, NE.

William Dean Haber, Jr. was born April 30, 1936 in Beemer, NE to William F. and Adelaide (Wehrer) Haber.  He was baptized on April 24, 1938 at the Methodist Church in Beemer and confirmed on July 29, 1962 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Beemer, NE.  Bill attended Cuming County Rural School District #31 and graduated from Beemer High School in 1953.  He served in the National Guard for 6 years.

Bill was united in marriage to Kathleen Ott on June 11, 1961 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Beemer, NE.  They had 6 children: Sherri, Randy, Scott, Gregg, Kevin, and Bruce.  Bill farmed with his father and on his own.  He later worked for Art Nitzsche, Jr. before working for Petz Oil Company until his retiring in 1998.

Bill was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Beemer.  He and Kathleen belonged to the Lucky Dozen Card Club for many years.  They enjoyed attending the activities of their children and grandchildren over the years.  Bill loved to fish the Plum Creek, Elkhorn River and lakes in the area.  He also enjoyed playing softball and bowling for the Pastime Bar.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents-William and Adelaide Haber, son-Randy Haber, sister-Bonnie (Bob, Sr.) Pojar, and in-laws-Allen Miller and Ewald Sender.
