Thomas Lee Walker Sr., age 77, of Oakland, Nebraska formerly of Norfolk, Nebraska. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at the Stonacek Funeral Chapel in Norfolk. Rev Terry Buol will be officiating the service. Interment will be held at the Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, Norfolk. Visitation will begin 1 hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post #16, V.F.W. Post #1644, and the United States Navy Honors Guard. Thomas was born on August 20, 1944 in Omaha, Nebraska to Otho Lee and Marie (Eymann) Walker.
He attended high school in Omaha. Thomas married Milda Marilyn “Corky” Knudtson on April 20, 1963 in Bellevue, NE. Corky passed away on December 31, 2012. After marriage, Thomas and Corky moved to Alameda, CA while Thomas served in the United States Navy. He served in the Navy from 1/25/1963 to 1/13/1965 (was reserve through 9/27/1967). They then moved back to Norfolk in 1970 and later moved to Oakland, Nebraska. Thomas worked for IBP and later Tyson Foods. He retired in 2007. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and spending time with his family, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include four daughters: Kathy (Dwain) Ladehoff of Columbus, Tammy Svitak of Schuyler, Kimberly Krieger-Goodwater of Columbus, Wendy (Brad) Konz of Genoa, son T.J. (Michelle) Walker of Milford, NE, 25 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, siblings Pat Hrbek of Omaha, Jerry (LaRene) Walker of Omaha, Rick (Darlene) Walker of Beaver Lake, NE, Debbie (Clyde) Sheard of Bellevue, NE.
He was preceded in death by his spouse M. Marilyn “Corky”, parents Otho and Marie, and sister Janet Bernardini.
Casket bearers will be Ashlie Moreno, Zachery Garnett, Marlin Svitak, Nathan Svitak, Curtis Krieger, Kyle Krieger, Jake Metz and Matthew Walker.
