Lloyd F. Tietz, 96, of rural Bancroft

Lloyd F. Tietz age 96 of rural Bancroft, NE passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at Franciscan Healthcare in West Point, NE.

Memorial services will be on Friday, October 27, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church, rural Bancroft, NE with Pastor Mike Belinsky and Rev. Don Meyer participating. Interment with Military Honors will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, rural Bancroft. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Minnick Funeral Home in West Point and will continue on Friday one hour prior to the service at the church.

Lloyd Fred Tietz was born July 8, 1927 to Henry and Martha (Bloedorn) Tietz on the family farm near Bancroft, NE.  Lloyd was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church, rural Bancroft.  Lloyd served in the United States Army during the Korean War from January 23, 1951 until his honorable discharge on October 22, 1952.

On November 23, 1952, he was united in marriage to Helen Kloth at Zion Lutheran Church, rural Wisner, NE.  Lloyd and Helen lived and farmed on the same farm place for over 70 years.

Lloyd was a life member of Zion Lutheran Church, rural Bancroft, serving as an Elder, Trustee, and on School Board.  He enjoyed attending events at the Senior Center in West Point, going on Good Life Club Tours.  Lloyd enjoyed fishing, birdwatching, his pets, playing cards, and attending the grandchildren’s activities.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents-Henry and Martha Tietz, granddaughter-Faith Hallien, siblings-Melvin Tietz, Gerhardt Tietz, Mildred Lase, LaVern Tietz, Leland Tietz, and Eunice Neuhaus.
