Goldie Mae Mohr Stover, 88, of Fremont

Goldie Mae Mohr Stover, 88, of Fremont passed away Monday, April 15, 2024 at her home.

Goldie was born October 10, 1935 in Pilger, Nebraska to William and Fern ‘Schulz’ Reil. She was raised on a farm near Rosalie and graduated from Rosalie High School when she was just 16 years old. Shortly after graduation, she moved to Fremont, where she met David P. Mohr. They were married on September 3, 1955. Over the years, Goldie worked for several different businesses, mostly as a bookkeeper. David died on April 25, 1983. On May 1, 2004, she married Irvin Stover, whom she had known since she was a teenager. The couple lived on a farm southeast of Uehling until moving to Shalimar Gardens in July of 2023.

Goldie was a member of Elim Lutheran Church in Swaburg. According to Irvin, “Goldie was the kindest person I ever met.”

Step-daughter DeAnn’s Partner – Peter Blakesley of Lincoln

Many grand and great grandchildren

Sister – Judy (Jerry) Olsen of Texas

Sister-in-law – Sally Mohr of Scribner

Brothers-in-law – Magnus (Janice) Stover of Oakland

Gerald (Janis) Stover of Hooper

Goldie was preceded in death by her first husband David, step-daughter DeAnn Stover, step-grandson Jonathan Benjamin and two sisters Betty Anderson and Cindy Reil.

The memorial service will be 11am, Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at Elim Lutheran Church in Swaburg. Lunch to follow the service at the Uehling Auditorium and burial later in Ridge Cemetery in Fremont. Memorials are suggested to the Uehling Fire Department. There is no viewing but the family will receive friends Tuesday from 6pm to 8pm at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel in Fremont.
