Glen L. Prinz, age 71, of West Point, Nebraska
December 31, 1949 - November 20, 2021

Glen L. Prinz, age 71, of West Point, Nebraska passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, November 20, 2021 surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 29, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in West Point, NE with Fr. James Weeder as celebrant. Honorary pallbearers are the employees of Prinz Grain, Tony Goeden, Al Meister, Steve Meister, Robert Oligmueller and Mark Spenner, Burial will be in the St. Michael’s Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at the Nielsen Community Center. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, there will be a Vigil Service and Knights of Columbus Living Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at the church, and visitation will continue one hour prior to the service on Monday. Minnick Funeral Home in West Point in assisting the family with the arrangements.

Glen Leo Prinz was born on December 31, 1949 to Leonard and Mildred (Uhing) Prinz. He lived most of his childhood on a farm southeast of West Point. He attended Guardian Angels Grade School and Central Catholic High School, graduating in 1968. He then attended UNL, graduating in 1972 with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Business Administration with major/minor in accounting and finance, and was a member of Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society.  He worked briefly for a CPA firm in Omaha before moving back to West Point with his brother, Dave, to work for Prinz Grain. He enjoyed vacations, fishing, bowling, golfing and watching Husker sports.

Glen married Linda Habrock of Emerson, Nebraska June 10, 1984 at Sacred Heart Church in Emerson. They lived in and around West Point raising 3 boys. Glen liked watching his sons’ activities and later enjoyed pop-in visits from his grandchildren. Glen was Secretary/Treasurer for the West Point Development Corporation for many years. Glen was a long-time member of the Nebraska State Grain & Feed Association, serving on the board from 1995-2000 and as President from 1999-2000. In addition, he was a Third-Degree Knights of Columbus member.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, his parents, many uncles and aunts, his sister, Susan McGill, his brother and long-time business partner, David Prinz, and great nephew, Marius Wiese.

Glen is survived by his wife, Linda Prinz & sons, all of West Point:
Jason & Ashley {Root) Prinz and children, Camden, Parker, and Berkley.
Aaron & Rachel {Wortman) Prinz and children, Henry and Rosalie.
Nathan Prinz.
