Mary L. Boston, age 71, of West Point, Nebraska passed away Sunday, May 1, 2022 at her beloved family home in West Point with family and faithful dog Archie by her side following a short battle with cancer. Private graveside services will be held Mt. Hope Cemetery in West Point. Arrangements by Stokely Funeral Home.
Mary Louise Boston was born on June 10, 1950 to Ralph and Dorothy (Olsen) Becker in West Point. She attended West Point Public Schools and graduated in 1968. Mary went to Bahner’s
Beauty School in Fremont where she became a beautician. This is where she met the love of her life Harlan “Earl” Boston. On January 18, 1970 they were united in marriage at Grace Lutheran Church and started their life in West Point shortly after. Mary continued to work as a beautician out of her home, worked at Gambles and operated Burger Town along with Earl for several years.
In 1985, Mary started working for Schmidt Monument Company and several years later turned the business into West Point Monument where it continues to thrive today. She held many roles
in the business but the main one was keeping the guys in line and on task.
Mary enjoyed painting and making crafts for auxiliary and church events. She loved the holidays and was avid on putting out decorations. It was a house that wasn’t missed. She will always be
remembered for having the best Halloween soda in town.
Survivors include her husband Earl of West Point; children and their families: Mark of West Point, Lori (Loren) of West Point, Ray (Tammy) of York, NE and children Syras and Sabryna,
Mary of Wellsville, KS and children Trevor, Jacob, Brianna, Zachary and Wesley. Sisters: Beverly (Garry) Hansen and family and Carol Eilerts (Mike) of Arizona.
She is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, younger brother David Becker, nephews Aaron Eilerts and Derek Hansen.
