Kearney area farmer enjoys benefits of milo crops | 2022 Fridays in the Field | Ep. 10

July 8th, 2022

Due to recent dry conditions during the growing season, a Kearney area farmer turned to milo to add to his crop rotation.

Matthew Oelofse said in conducting  research he found that milo has more than one pollination cycle.

He says the cycles will l benefit the crops yield when the weather is dry, as there will be more than one day that the milo could be pollinated.

Jacob Roth is following Oelofse in this year’s edition of Friday’s in the Field.

Over the  next six weeks, Oelofse plans to work on weed control in order to keep the water usage down in his fields.
