York, Neb. — A baby died in a York house fire on Thursday. York Police Department issued a release that said at approximately 4:09 p.m. on Thursday, officers were dispatched, along with the York Fire Department to a local residence to investigate a fire with possible injuries.

The fire was put out by the York Fire Department, and emergency disconnects were handled.

The release says, tragically, a baby suffered life-ending injuries in the fire.

The matter remains under investigation. The York Police Department asks that the family’s privacy is respected during this difficult time.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office, Black Hill’s Energy, Nebraska Public Power District and the Nebraska State Patrol also responded to the fire.
