Gering, Neb. — Road work will begin August 5 on eastbound and westbound I-80 and the westbound rest area at Sidney according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.

The westbound rest area will be removed. New ramps and parking lot will be built to accommodate
a new rest area building being constructed under a separate project.

Traffic will be maintained with lane closures. Anticipated completion is July 2025.

Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, and to put phones
