Whippets lose in Lincoln

Lincoln-Minden’s stay at the Class C1 state girls basketball tournament was a short one as the Whippets lost 65-57 to undefeated Bridgeport. The Whippets led after the first period 10-8, but the Bulldogs grabbed the lead in the second quarter and Minden would never reclaim the lead again. Minden was making its first appearance at the state tournament since 2015. The Whippets who wrapped up the season 20-4 were led by by Myla Emery who scored 20 points, Mattie Kamery had 12, while Makenna Starkey had 10. Bridgeport is now 26-0 on the year and moves on to play top seeded Lincoln Christian in the state semis.
