COZAD – The Cozad football team won a thriller last week over Central City 56-55 in double overtime, and had a record breaking performance from their senior quarterback Noah Shoemaker.
In the game, Shoemaker went 23/39 with 391 yards and eight touchdowns. The 391 yards breaks his own school record for passing yards in a game. The eight touchdowns ties the C-1 record for passing touchdowns in a game, tied with NBA player Baylor Scheierman. Shoemaker is a three year starter at Cozad, throwing for over 3,000 yards in his career with 32 touchdown passes. He has also ran for 505 yards in his career with 14 rushing touchdowns.
