After the 26-9 loss against Illinois, can the Huskers gear up for a tough Minnesota squad?

Before leaving in the second quarter with an injury, quarterback Casey Thompson threw a 56-yard touchdown pass to Travis Vokolek, giving him a TD pass in all eight games on Saturday’s match against Illinois. Thompson is just the third Husker with a TD pass in the first eight games of a season, joining Keithen McCant (first 8 games of 1991) and Dave Humm (first 10 games of 1972).
The loss marked Nebraska’s 20th straight loss to ranked opponents.
The Huskers will face the 5-3 Minnesota Gophers in Memorial Stadium on Saturday. Kickoff is at 11:00 am.
