Nebraska’s winter wheat harvest is predicted to increase 15% from last year, according to the latest USDA Crop Production Report.
The 2024 winter wheat crop is forecast to be 42.5 million bushels across the state. According to the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service, average yields are predicted at 50 bushels per acre, up 8 bushels from the previous year.
The land estimated to be harvested for grain is at 850,000 acres, down from last year by 30,000 acres. This represents 85% of planted acres compared to 78% harvested last year.
