Update: Problems with Central Nebr 911 centers & phone service appear to be cleared up

Lincoln County, Neb. — 911 services at the North Platte Police Department Dispatch Center have been restored. The cause of the 911 outage is unknown and is currently being investigated by the Nebraska Public Service Commission.

Anyone with information regarding this incident or any similar incidents are encouraged to call the North Platte Police Department 308-535-6789.

Dawson and Buffalo Counties were experiencing some 911 phone issues last evening. Verizon was not working correctly and U.S. Cellular customers were having issues. Those problems were cleared up at midnight. There could be some lingering problems for awhile, but as of this time, problems for Dawson and Buffalo counties appear to be cleared up. If you’re still having problems and need assitance, please call the Dawson County Sheriff’s Office at 308-324-3011.

For your information. Dawson and Buffalo are having some sort of 911/phone issues. Verizon is not working and us cellular maps but does not ring. Also our police departments and cozad landlines are down.

As of right now if you need assistance please call 308-324-3011.

From the North Platte 911 Center:

Verizon customers are currently unable to call 911. If you are experiencing an emergency in Lincoln County or the City of Gothenburg call 308-535-6789.

Update:

11:21 PM.  911 Calls for Buffalo County appear to be back to normal at this time. 

The Buffalo County/City of Kearney Emergency Call Center is experiencing an interruption in 911 phone service. If you are unable to call 911 use one of these alternate numbers. 308-237-2424 or 308-455-1501. All non-emergency numbers appear to be functioning.
