ST. PAUL – Police in St. Paul say two people were arrested over the weekend for attempting to use counterfeit money during Junk Jaunt.
According to a release, police were contacted Sunday by a seller who was able to immediately identify the money as fake. A witness located the suspect’s vehicle at another sale close by and notified officers.
The Howard County Sheriff’s Office deployed a K9 and a search of the vehicle revealed methamphetamine and marijuana, in addition to $1,100 in counterfeit $100 bills. Two women were arrested.
Anyone in or around St. Paul who had a sale during Junk Jaunt is encouraged to check whether they may have received any fake $100 bills. Those who may have received fake money or are unsure are encouraged to contact law enforcement.
